Why 10 degrees? Advantages of the flat Wattstone stand
In the discussion about the optimal roof pitch for photovoltaic systems, we often encounter the question: "Why 10 degrees when there are also 15 degrees?" The answer largely depends on the individual priorities of your customers. The 10-degree elevation offers some key advantages. This flatter variant is less pronounced, which not only improves the aesthetic integration into the building design but also minimizes the visibility of the photovoltaic modules from the outside. This can be particularly advantageous in residential areas, where a discreet appearance is appreciated.
A current example shows how a customer installed the new Wattstone 10 Degree V2 in a solid east-west configuration in bright weather. This innovative solution impresses with its maximum wind resistance, making it a safe choice for any roof structure. In addition, the anthracite color of the modules stands out, harmoniously integrating into the roof design and thus creating an appealing overall appearance.
Rely on the advantages of the Wattstone 10-degree elevation and expand your range with a solution that perfectly combines functionality and design.

Successfully tested PV system with Wattstones in the wind tunnel
Different orientations of the modules were investigated, such as east-west and module row assembly with south orientation. The module rows were positioned in numerous test series on
a rotating platform, equipped with sensors, and exposed to a constant wind flow. The installed sensors generate data that determine required key figures such as Cp values, suction loads, and contact pressure using algorithms.
Large project with WATTSTONE 10°
One of our major projects with Wattstones is completed 🔥 125 kWp as an east-west mounting system with a 10-degree tilt. Installed in just two days and the skilled workers are happy! Up to 70% faster installation than with traditional modular systems.
WATTSTONE: successful friction coefficient test
WATTSTONE 10° and 6° lies securely on smooth bitumen, bitumen with slate, PVC, EPDM, and smooth concrete. And this is true under both dry and wet conditions.
Measurement method: TNO 2002-BS-R0195
The measurements were conducted under both dry and wet roof conditions using various materials such as concrete, EPDM, smooth bituminous roofing, and bituminous roofs with slate and PVC. The coefficient of friction, which describes the ratio between the downward force and the horizontal pulling force, was measured for dry and wet conditions and documented in tables
. All measurements were repeated three times.
Pull test with force measuring device
Peutz was commissioned by Wattstone GmbH to measure the friction coefficients between their solar PV mounting system (WATTSTONE) for flat roofs and various roofing materials. For this purpose, samples equipped with rubber feet were used. The measurements were carried out by pulling the sample with a handheld force gauge.

Idea, development, production, and distribution
The best products are simple yet effective. From the desire to improve a previously complicated installation of PV modules, WATTSTONE was created, an L-shaped stone made of fine concrete. It serves as both ballast and mounting. From now on, placing a PV module on a surface takes just a few minutes. No more drilling, no more additional ballast - simply place the Wattstones and screw the PV modules onto them. Done!
