12.8 kWp PV system - A solar project by Wattstone & Liota Energy
Wattstone & Liota Energy - within just two days, a 12.8 kWp solar system with a substructure from Wattstone was successfully installed by our esteemed partner Liota Energy! The Wattstones serve both as a substructure and as ballast. The Wattstones are delivered ready for use to the construction site, allowing solar installers to start work immediately. The design has also impressed the customers!
WATTSTONE in the friction coefficient test
WATTSTONE 0°, 6°, 10° and 15° sits securely on smooth bitumen, bitumen with slate, PVC, EPDM, and smooth concrete. And this is true under both dry and wet conditions.
Pull test with force measuring device
Peutz was commissioned by Wattstone GmbH to measure the friction coefficients between their solar PV mounting system (WATTSTONE) for flat roofs and various roofing materials. For this purpose, samples equipped with rubber feet were used. The measurements were conducted by pulling the sample with a handheld force gauge.
Measurement method: TNO 2002-BS-R0195
The measurements were carried out under both dry and wet roof conditions using various materials such as concrete, EPDM, smooth bituminous roofing, and bituminous roofs with slate and PVC. The coefficient of friction, which describes the ratio between the downward force and the horizontal pulling force, was measured for dry and wet conditions and documented in tables. All measurements were repeated three times.

WATTSTONE 10° - Large Project
One of our significant projects using Wattstones has been successfully completed: A 125 kWp installation in east-west orientation with a tilt of 10 degrees. Built in just two days, to the great satisfaction of our skilled workers! Up to 70% faster installation than with traditional modular systems.
The cable management is routed centrally through the connecting elements. Looks great, doesn't it?
Time saved - With WATTSTONES, it is not necessary to rethink and check the ballasting plan.
The Wattstones 10° made of fine concrete serve as a substructure that also acts as a weight.

Idea, development, production, and distribution
The best products are simple yet effective. From the desire to improve a previously complicated installation of PV modules, WATTSTONE was created, an L-shaped stone made of fine concrete. It serves as both ballast and support. From now on, placing a PV module on a surface is a matter of minutes. No more drilling, no more additional ballast - just place the Wattstones and screw the PV modules onto them. Done!
